The Importance of a landing page
In this article we discuss why landing pages are so important and give some useful tips so your business can get the most out of them.
These days, every business that is serious about digital marketing will have a website, but a businesses website is only as good as the content on there. Whatever design of website you have and whatever service you offer, it is imperative that you have a website landing page.
A landing page is a standalone web page created for a specific marketing reason with a single goal, for example, getting your visitor to take a desired action such as making a purchase. As the name suggests, this is a place for digital prospects to ‘land’ and hopefully be converted to take action and do business with you.
A landing page is such a powerful tool as you can blend it with a specific marketing campaign. Unlike regular website pages, landing pages are focused and often stripped of distractions to guide users toward a singular call to action (CTA) and drive conversions. If you conduct an email or social media campaign that links viewers to your site, just simply linking to your website is not as effective as linking to a landing page that simplifies the actions you would like the prospect to take. The idea is to make it as easy as possible for your prospects to take action, therefore, you want your landing page to have clear instructions with a place for a prospect to input their details. You want to make sure that with your landing page you are using a conversion-focused design so the layout is optimised to persuade visitors to act, without the distractions of a typical website page.
Tips for a successful landing page:
1. Make sure that your page has a compelling headline and clear offer. You want to grab the attention of the reader while clearly communicating the benefits to them.
2. With the content of your landing page focus on benefits of your offer/service to try and resonate with your audience.
3. Use concise and simple copy, making it clear and easy-to-read.
4. Ensure you are using a strong CTA, make any action buttons obvious and prominent on the page.
5. Limit the amount of navigation needed on the page, as this can be distracting and you want to keep visitors focused on your desired action.
As you can see from the tips above, the main focus is to drastically reduce any friction from a prospect taking action and beginning the journey into becoming a lead. And that is why landing pages are so important, they can dramatically help with your lead generation, are a great way to collect prospect information and can be seamlessly integrated into any ongoing marketing campaigns you have. They can be used to promote specific promotional offers and give an interesting insight into campaign performance as their focused nature allows for precise tracking of how many visitors convert, indicating the success of a specific campaign.
It’s clear that landing pages are extremely important in your marketing strategy, so what are you waiting for? Get landing!
